With great sadness, we announce the passing of Johnny Jr Cruz Perez, who left us on January 10, 2026.

Jr was born in Blythe, California, on August 21, 1996, to Johnny and Cathy Perez. He attended Twin Palms High School and graduated in 2016. Jr completed the Basic Correctional Academy in 2023, and he was promoted to Correctional Deputy II on June 2024, an accomplishment he and his family were incredibly proud of.

Jr was the oldest brother to Dylan and Gabriel Perez and half brother to Shawn Morgan. He was a great son and an amazing uncle. He took great pride in caring for and protecting his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, going out in the desert and most of all spending time with those he loved.

Jr was a provider, always being there for everyone  when needed. He was a beautiful soul, selfless, dependable, kind, funny and if you were lucky, you got one of his best selfies. Jr leaves behind beautiful memories that we will forever cherish.

Jr blessed us with a beautiful gift of all, his unborn son, who will forever be his legacy. Through his son, we will continue to see Jr, love him, and honor him as we help raise his beautiful son and share the incredible memories of his father.

Jr and his father will forever be missed, but we find comfort in knowing they will be together, waiting for us.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5th at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Blythe. Burial will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery.
