John F. Rodriguez, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 1st.

He was born in Blythe, California to Eriverto Sr. and Rosa Rodriguez. He was married to Margarita Maggie Rodriguez for 57 years. Together they raised 5 children and managed 3 businesses in Blythe.

John was a dedicated father, was proud of his children's accomplishments and often gave credit to Maggie for raising their children as he worked many hours to provide for the family.

Prior to getting married and starting a family, John served in the United States Army. He spoke fondly of the nearly 2 years he lived in Germany while serving in the military. After returning from duty, he worked as a grocery clerk and manager for Claypools Co. and Albertsons for approximately 25 years before opening his own stores - Buy-Rite Market and R & R Mini Mart (in partnership with Maggie and his sister Vera). He also owned Ice-T, an ice manufacturing and distributing business.

John had a great sense of humor that he enjoyed sharing with family, friends and his customers.

John is survived by his children: Eriverto Rodriguez, Phillip (Mona) Rodriguez, Johnny (Lupita) Rodriguez, Diana (Jeff Barraza) Rodriguez and Leticia Rodriguez.

John was the proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, his siblings include: Vera Rodriguez, Rosie Samaniego, Eriverto (Herb) Rodriguez, Franciso Rodriguez, Catherine Rodriguez-Contreras and Joe Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 2 sisters (Enriquetta Tensley and Eutimia Reynolds) and a brother (Martin Rodriguez).
