It is with great sadness that the family of Joaquin Lainez, age 38, born on December 1, 1986, announce his unexpected passing on May 14, 2025.

Joaquin leaves behind his wife, Monica Lainez, his mother, Silvia Lainez, grandmother, Josefina Lainez, two sons, Joaquin (11) and Vincent (7); two siblings, Jacinto and Polette; 4 nieces and nephews, and a large loving family.

Joaquin was born and raised in Blythe, California. He thrived year round by enjoying the  river and desert; fishing, camping, hunting, and off roading. His favorite holiday was the opening of dove season on September 1st.

Growing up he raised rabbits and pigs in the Blythe 4H club from elementary school through high school. In high school he joined the wrestling team. Joaquin was a well known life long mechanic, taught by his late grandfather, Julio Lainez. He we was a jack of all trades, from racing and building RC cars to building bbq smokers. Joaquin participated as a pit crew member for the Baja 1000.

Joaquin was notorious for not responding to texts but always answered the call when needed. He jumped at the chance to help someone whenever necessary; whether it was helping someone with a flat tire, a stuck truck, empty tank, helping build his sister's homecoming float, or grilling food at a family gathering .

Joaquin met his partner of 15 years, Monica Victoria in 1st grade. They married in 2020. Joaquin was a dedicated father to his two children. They enjoyed fishing, hunting, and off roading. He was an assistant coach and coach to his son's sports teams; football, baseball, and soccer.

A service in remembrance will be held at Frye Chapel on May 30th at 10:00 am.
