Jesus was born on July 4, 1929, in Tehuilotepec, Guerrero, Mexico and entered into eternal rest on January 7, 2019, in Blythe, Ca, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.

Jesus is survived by his wife Esther of 69 years, son's Rigoberto (Carmela), Ruperto (Irene), Daniel (Marcy), Lauriano "Tol" (Dollie), Rogelio (Gloria), Rudy (Gaby), daughter's Maria Canchola (Tony) and Betty Lazenby (Dann), brother Jesus Orendain (Gloria), 37 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jesus was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Florentina Garnica and Ruperto Orendain, who raised him from the age of 8 years old, his brother Rodolfo Garnica and sister Baudelia Lopez, his son Jesus Garnica Jr. and grandson Adrian Garnica.

Jesus began working in Blythe in agricultural in 1955, then he moved his wife and four oldest kids from Mexicali, Mexico to Blythe, Ca in 1959. From 1960 through 1974, his family grew to a total of nine kids. He continued to work in agriculture until 1984, when a medical illness forced Jesus to medically retire that same year, at the age of 55. He became an avid walker so that he could improve his health. Jesus kept busy at home by caring for his garden. Spending time with his grandchildren and babysitting them, brought him great pleasure and joy. He especially enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren and their friends, by telling them stories from his childhood days. Jesus's life evolved around his family. He enjoyed celebrating every holiday and especially birthdays because this was an opportunity for him to spend time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Jesus's favorite holiday was Easter because this was when most family and friends, especially those from out of town, would gather at his favorite spot in the desert north of Blythe to celebrate this special holiday. Jesus was the Patriarch of the family and he always instilled in his children, grandchildren and all who knew him the importance of family, morals, values, respect, unity and sense of justice. Jesus will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. We love you and rest in peace Jefito, Tata and Tio Chuy!

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 17th beginning at 4:00 p.m., with Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be Friday., Jan. 18th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc with burial following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
