Janet
Dirtseller
Jul 24, 1954 — May 21, 2023
Blythe
Our Beloved Mother, Janet Dirtseller, was called home Sunday morning, May 21, 2023 in Blythe CA, after a long battle with cancer. Janet was also a sister, aunt and grandma but above all that she was like a Mother to all of us or "Momma" some called her.
Janet, born Janet Pettit, was born on July 24, 1954 in Sacaton AZ to her dad George Pettit and mom
Leona Armstrong. Janet loved cooking from her Native background, she grew up early learning how to make homemade tortillas and Indian fry bread at a young age. She had a son before moving to Oklahoma, where she met Jimmy Dirtseller, with whom she a daughter with, and married but later divorced.
Janet later moved to Blythe CA where she met her soulmate Fred Paxton SR, and they would later have three kids together. Along with raising all of her children, Janet and Fred were also foster parents, and even took in her grandchildren. Janet and Fred loved making homemade tamales for the whole family around Christmas time every year, like a tradition. Janet will be remembered for her cooking, but most of all she will always be remembered as our "Momma". No words will ever describe how beautiful that woman's heart and soul was, she was a true angel sent from heaven. She will be dearly missed, missed more than she will EVER know. She will always be with us, it's not a Goodbye it's a "See you later Momma".
Janet is survived by her Sister-Connie Robinson, Daughters-Priscilla Dirtseller, Ziporah Paxton, and Bobrie Paxton, Nephew-Jessie Pettit, Nieces-Ambria, Abby and Vanessa Robinson, Grandchildren-Bianca, Cecilia and Franky Mejia; Alexis, Leon and Ezabell Dirtseller; Daysha and Christopher Valladares; Lynnessa Patterson and Bentley Paxton, as well as many, many great-grandchildren.
