Hortencia Castro
Soto
Jan 1, 1940 — Aug 20, 2019
Blythe
Hortencia Castro Soto, 79, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2019, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 1, 1940 in Saucillo, Chihuahua Mexico to Jose and Maria De Jesus Castro. She was married to Angel "Kato" Soto who preceded her in death in 2015.
Hortencia was fondly known to all as "Tencha". She was a strong, kind, sweet and loving woman. Her beautiful smile warmed your heart. She was a matriarch, who created a big, tight-knit, beautiful family. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could always be found on the sidelines cheering them on, she was their number one fan.
She loved family gatherings, cooking, dancing and singing a happy soul at heart. Anyone who visited her home would never leave hungry, because she made sure you ate, even if you said you weren't hungry!
Tencha was also a lifelong member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Our queen, the heart of our family has gone to rest eternally, leaving behind a lifetime of precious memories to cherish. She will always be remembered and never forgotten.
She is survived by her children, Martina (Vicente) Castellaños, Maria "Nina" Soto, Frank J. Soto, Diane C. Soto, Mathew L. (Elizabeth) Soto, Ruben (Paula) Soto, Angela (Inez) Martinez, Angel Soto, Jr., Vickie Soto, and two Sisters Rosalia Castro and Teresa Guzman, and her all time companion and guard dog, her Chihuahua, "Donny" and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded on death by her husband, Angel "Kato" Soto, 2015; Stevie Soto, 2006; Lori Soto, 2012.
Visitation and Rosary will be held Thursday, August 29th at Frye Chapel at 6 pm. Mass will be held Friday, August 30th at 9 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with burial following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
