Obituary

Graciela Otero Gonzalez, "Gracie", age 65 of Blythe, departed her loving family on Thursday, August 17, 2023.  She passed peacefully surrounded by family.  She was born September 7, 1957 in Juarez, Mexico to Manuel Otero and Maria Emma Otero.

At a very young age she was brought to live in the US where she was raised with her 2 brothers and sister.  She moved to Blythe, CA and later in life met and married her husband, Tony H. Gonzalez and they had three children together.  Her family continued to grow and was blessed with seven grandchildren and one great grandson who loved her dearly.

Gracie, as family and friends knew her, was a loving, compassionate, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved being around family and friends.  Everyone also loved being around her, for her laughs, kindness and delicious cooking.

Gracie devoted her time to her family and her work.  She was a hard worker and over the years worked as a housekeeper in hotels, was in food management at Palo Verde School District and was Manager at Taco Bell and McDonald's.  She met a lot of people in her working days.  Her coworkers meant a lot and were more than coworkers, they were friends.  But, what was most important to her, was her family.  Her family was her heart.  She loved being able to provide for them and was always there for them in good times and bad.  She also took care of extended family which included elderly relatives, nieces, nephews and even the neighborhood kids.  She was loved by many and her big heart will tremendously be missed.

Gracie is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Otero and Maria Emma Otero and daughter, Rosemary Gonzalez Duenes.

Gracie is survived by her husband Tony H. Gonzalez, son Tony Gonzalez, daughter Kristina Gonzalez (Ricardo Bernardino), grandchildren Aaron Duenes, Jonathan Duenes, Serena Duenes (Rodrigo Zavala), Alayna Duenes, Kassandra Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez, Ricardo Bernardino Jr., great-grandson Rodrigo A. Zavala, brothers Ignacio Otero (Gloria Otero) of Huntsville, AL and Mando Otero of Blythe, CA and sister Concepcion Rodriguez (Hector Rodriguez) of Coachella, CA, as well as many family members and friends.
