Obituary

Glenn Keith Fuhrman, 88, passed away at his home in Blythe on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

Glenn was born on December 8, 1930 in Effingham, Kansas to Ray and Olive (Sumner) Fuhrman.  He moved from Kansas to the Palo Verde Valley with his family around the age of 12 years old.  Glenn enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served his country for two years, most notably upon the USS Valley Forge aircraft carrier.

Glenn married the love of his life, Jackie Lee Watkins, on February 1, 1949 in Quartzsite, Arizona.  Together they had three children: Vicky, Tommy and Shirley.  Glenn worked for Blythe Auto Parts for 50 years; if you visited the front counter for parts, chances are Glenn was the one who helped you - and found the part you needed even if the computer said it wasn't in stock.  He was loved by many who frequented the shop.  He was also a member of the Blythe Jeep Club for many years.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Olive Fuhrman; his brother, Robert Fuhrman; his wife, Jackie Fuhrman; his daughter, Vicky Melton; grandbaby, Ricky Glenn Garcia; grandsons, Kevin and Paul Norris and nephew, Larry Pitts.

He is survived by his son, Tommy (Michelle) Fuhrman; his daughter, Shirley (Pete) Garcia; his grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Crain, Adrianna (Richard) Johnson, Crystal Garcia, Sondra (James) Garcia; his great-grandchildren, Ricky, Junior and Alicia Lule, Robert Garcia, Devin Godinez, Anthony Ruiz, Brooke Holladay, Alyssa Vagts and Brooklyn Crain.

We (Tommy and Shirley) would like to thank our Dad's amazing caregivers, Waynette Shirlee Dekens, Gracie Moreno, Kelly Clark and Sandra Walker.  We could not have done it without you.  We also want to thank our Aunt Corina and Uncle Floyd Pitts for always being there for Dad.  You were his best friends and he loved you very much.

Memorial services for Glenn will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel.
