Fred "Freddy" Cole Currier, peacefully passed away in Blythe, California on January 11th, 2019. He went to be with his Lord at the age of 76, after a brief bout with heart issues.

Freddy was born in Mesa, Arizona on November 15th, 1942, the second son of JP and Ethel Currier. The family arrived in Ripley in the 1940's, later settling into the Currier Homestead known as the Currier Ranch. Fred graduated from Palo Verde Valley High School in 1961. He started working for a trucking company in Long Beach for a short stint before heading back to Blythe to become a rancher. Freddy was a rancher and farmer in the valley for over 50 years. He enjoyed exploring the surrounding desert with his self-built buggies and raced many years at the dust bowl. Freddy was a member of the Blythe Jeep Club and the Elks Lodge for many years as well. Freddy shared his love for the valley with his two sons, teaching them how to enjoy and respect the outdoors.

Fred Currier was preceded in death by his parents, JP "Cowboy" Currier and Ethel Marie Currier.

He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Currier, Gary Currier, and JC Currier; sons, Kevin Currier and Steven Currier; and granddaughters Megan Nicole Currier, Kayla Marie Currier and Brooke Lynn Currier. He will be lovingly remembered by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would to express a special thanks to Pastor Hoemann, Mike and Sydney Presley, the staff at Desert Regional Medical Center, Palo Verde Hospital and Blythe Post Acute.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel, with graveside services immediately following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
