Frank was born in Denver, Colorado to parents Asakichi and Chiki Uyemura and was the fourth of six children.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Irene, two brothers George Uyemura and Joe Uyemura, two sisters Betty Sugihara and Mary Miyamoto and a grandson Frank Richard Uyemura. He is survived by his sister Stella (Lloyd) Tanaka and three children Nancy (Rex) Mahaffey, Richard Uyemura and Gary Uyemura. He has six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In Frank's younger years he helped with the operation of a family restaurant business in Denver and in later years he moved with his family to Blanca, Colorado where they worked a small farm growing cauliflower and assorted fresh vegetables.

While attending school in Blanca he met Irene Wakasugi and they were married June 18, 1944. Later his parents and siblings returned to Denver but he and Irene remained in Blanca.

In 1963 Frank, Irene and their two sons moved to Blythe, California. Their daughter moved to Denver with her family.

Frank remained in Blythe, farming for Hayashida Farms, Suzy Bel Farms and Ralph Clayton Farms. In September of 1971 after many years in agriculture he moved to the City of Blythe Municipal Golf Course as the Greens Superintendent and eventually took the City Parks as additional responsibility. After 21 years he retired on July 3, 1992.

Frank's passions throughout his life included baseball, basketball, fishing, bowling and of course golf.

Frank's infectious smile, easy-going manner and caring personality will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services for Frank will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Frye Chapel.
