Federico "Fred" Castro Guzman died on December 26, 2020, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on November 14, 1962, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Federico and Maria Teresa Guzman. Federico came to Blythe in 1979 when he was approximately 17 years old, where he attended and graduated from the Escuela de la Raza Unida (ERU).
He married Bertha Alicia Silva and together they had three children: Federico "Freddie", Yadira, and Yesenia. Federico and Bertha had a happy marriage and were together for more than 40 years. They enjoyed dancing a lot, and even won several dance contests. Music and dancing was something they always enjoyed until for health reasons they could no longer dance.
Federico worked for Bob Standage at Goodyear Tires for over 12 years. He also worked for Randy and Janice Dupree for many years at Shell Gas Station, Union 76, and EZ Stop Mobile Gas. Federico was always ready to help anyone who needed anything. He was in charge of cooking his famous fried chicken, carne asada, pork tails, burgers, and hot dogs for the parties of his children, grandchildren, and other relatives. Taking care of his children and grandchildren was what gave him much joy and reason to live, as well as spending time with his wife Bertha and other family members.
He had a strong will to live and overcame several obstacles until God called him home where he is not suffering anymore. He was preceded in death by his father Federico Guzman and his brother Rafael Guzman. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Alicia Guzman; his son Federico "Freddie" Guzman (Chabli), Yadira Guzman (Tony Canchola), and Yesenia Maidment (Evan); grandchildren: Dayanira Vazquez, Tony Vazquez, Gabriel Canchola, Vicente Canchola, Nevaeh Maidment, Ezekiel Maidment, Christian Maidment, Mateo Maidment, Ayden Guzman, Amari Guzman, and waited with great joy and anticipation for his granddaughter Yzabela but God called him before he could meet her; sisters and brother: Yolanda Castillo (Luis), Teresa Almanza (Sergio), Rita Robledo (Gerardo) and Jesus "Chepis" Guzman (Irene); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Services will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Viewing at 11:30 a.m. and Rosario at 12:30 p.m. at Frye Chapel. Holy Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Se casó con Bertha Alicia Silva y juntos tuvieron tres hijos: Federico "Freddie", Yadira, y Yesenia. Federico y Bertha tuvieron un feliz matrimonio y estuvieron juntos por mas de 40 años. Ellos disfrutaron mucho de los bailes, y hasta ganaron varios concursos de baile. La música y el baile era algo que siempre disfrutaron hasta que por razones de salud ya no pudieron seguir bailando.

Él es sobrevivido por su esposa, Bertha Alicia Guzman; su hijo Federico "Freddie" Guzman (Chabli); hijas Yadira Guzman (Tony Canchola) y Yesenia Maidment (Evan); nietos Dayanira Vazquez, Tony Vazquez, Gabriel Canchola, Vicente Canchola, Nevaeh Maidment, Ezekiel Maidment, Christian Maidment, Mateo Maidment, Ayden Guzman, Amari Guzman, y esperaba con mucha alegría y anticipación a su nieta Yzabela pero Dios lo llamo antes de poder conocerla; hermanas y hermano Yolanda Castillo (Luis), Teresa Almanza (Sergio), Rita Robledo (Gerardo) y Jesús "Chepis" Guzman (Irene); y numerosos sobrinas, sobrinos, tías, tíos, primos, primas y amigos.
Los servicios serán el martes, 5 de enero de 2021. Velorio a las 11:30 a.m. y Rosario a las 12:30 p.m en Frye Chapel. Santa Misa será a la 1:30 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica Santa Juana de Arco.
