Our gentle, kind and loving Mother and Grandmother, Faye Richins Johnson, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  She was the youngest child of Charles Parley Richins and Zelpha Watson Richins.  She was born in Ogden, Utah on November 6, 1922.  Her parents moved from Utah to Los Angeles, California when Faye was about one year of age.  In 1923, the family moved from Los Angeles to a house built by her father in Reseda, California.

Her parents were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Faye was baptized at the age of eight and became a life-long member of the church.  In the 1940's, her father moved the family to Blythe, California.  The family already owned several large feedlots in the Reseda area and her dad was in the process of building the largest feedlot in the world (at that time) in the Palo Verde Valley.  Faye later worked at that feedlot.

Faye moved to El Monte, California to finish her last year of high school.  After graduation, Faye moved back to Blythe and married Thomas Cyle Johnson on May 3, 1942 in Quartzsite, Arizona.  Later, Faye and Cyle were sealed in the LDS temple for all time and eternity.

During World War II, Cyle was stationed in Omaha, Nebraska for Army training before he was shipped overseas.  Faye took a bus to Omaha to be with Cyle and while residing there she worked at Boys Town.

Cyle and Faye were blessed with three children: Dennis Cyle Johnson (wife, Jayne McMahon), Blythe, CA; Ronald Lee Johnson (wife, Jill Williams), San Diego, CA; and Janice Elaine Johnson Dir (husband, Steve Dir), Blythe, CA.  Grandchildren: Brandon (Dinorah) Johnson, Blythe; Brenton Johnson, Blythe; Darien (Natalie) Dir, San Diego, CA; Camden Dir; Chelsea Johnson, El Cajon, CA; Cade (Erica) Johnson, Gilbert, AZ.  Great Grandchildren: Brandon Jr and Dylan Johnson; Shanelle Johnson; Jaden, Nevin and Kenzi Jayezel Dir; Devenee Ilic; Savannah, Easton, Jack and Bryce Johnson.

Faye never said a bad word about anyone.  If she didn't agree with someone's action, the most she would say about them is, "Well, that is different."  She cherished time spent with family.  She was a loving, supportive wife and a wonderful mother.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren have many fond memories of their time spent with her.  Primarily a homemaker, Faye also worked part time at Johnson Electric for many years.  She was a past member of the Blythe Women's Club and the Soroptimist Club.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Cyle, her brothers Parley, Norman and Larry Richins, her sister Grace Richins Alder and her granddaughter Camden Dir.

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Palo Verde Cemetery.
