Eugenia Lona Mae Webber aka Genia died on January 12th, 2024. Eugenia was born on December 9th, 1939, in Mountain Gap, Washington County, Arkansas to Nova June Miller Webber and Henry France Webber.
Genia graduated from Commerce High School, Commerce, Oklahoma, in 1957, from Northeastern A & M, Miami, Oklahoma, in 1959, from Northeastern State College, Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1961, and from Norther Arizona University Flagstaff, AZ, in 1971.
She worked as an accountant for Lee F. Adkison, CPA, in Miami from 1961 to 1965.
In 1965 she was hired by Palo Verde Unified School District to teach at Palo Verde Valley High School. Genia served as the Business Department Chairman, Vocational Director, Cheerleader Advisor, and National Honor Society Advisors.
She chaired three Western Association Schools and Colleges Accreditation self-studies for the high school and was a member of fourteen W ASC teams throughout Southern California.
Genia served as Palo Verde Teachers Association President, Negotiator, and Grievance Representative.
After retirement in 2000, Genia worked as a grant writer for the District and acted as Interim Vice-
Principal, and Interim Principal of the high school. When she finished with these projects, she served as a member and President of the PVUSD Board of Trustees.
She was a life-member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, President of the Palo Verde Hospital Auxiliary, and docent of the Palo Verde Museum.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Genia on Saturday, February 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Blythe.
