Elswood "Woody" Garret was born  July 1, 1938 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Lillian and Jesse Garrett.  The family moved to Blythe a short time later and Woody would call Blythe his home the remainder of his life.  He married Brenda Waymire on July 21st, 1997.

Woody was a man who worked  at a lot of different jobs and gained a lot of wonderful life experiences.  He worked as a logger, a miner, a handyman, and also did property management for hotels, apartments and numerous other places.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Brenda, his sisters - Velma Schooler, Jean Compton, and Barbara Darland; a son - Steven Garrett, and a grandson - Donald Garrett.

Woody is survived by his children - Ross (Mary) Garrett, Lisa Garrett, Laura Ruiz, Tammy (Rocky) Milton and Kenneth (Eddie) Wooley, grandchildren - Brandon Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Michael Gallegos (Lila), Jeremy Gallegos, Garrett Sellers, Cole Ruiz, Tommy Apodaca, Tony Apodaca and Tina Salazar (Santiago); a brother - Jesse Garrett and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 10 am at Palo Verde Cemetery, Blythe, Ca.

Woody was deeply loved.
