Eddie Lavele Ward, age 61, of Lathrop, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2024. Born on February 10, 1963 in Blythe, CA, Eddie was affectionately known as "E Money" to his family and close friends.

Eddie had a passion for baseball, showcasing his talent as a center fielder during his high school years. He had a love for cars, particularly his first car, a dark blue Riviera with white interior, which he considered his baby and cherished deeply.

In 1985, Eddie moved to Northern California, where he found a sense of community and belonging. He graduated from Manteca Adult School in May 2005, embodying a spirit of perseverance and dedication. Eddie worked diligently in the agricultural fields, spending long hours in the watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and pumpkin fields. He also showcased his culinary skills as a cook at various restaurants and as a banquet setup supervisor at the Hilton Hotel, among others.

For 26 years, Eddie served as a VTIS Operator at California National Products, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was known for his incredible barbecue skills, particularly his famous ribs, and he took great joy in preparing feasts for family and friends no matter how small or large. His co-workers eagerly anticipated scheduled and unscheduled potlucks, always looking forward to the delicious meals he would bring. They were amazed what he would bring for lunch as it was never typical or ordinary but a variety of freshly prepared home cooked meals.

Eddie leaves behind his longtime partner of over 40 years, Linda Mack; his siblings, brothers Lloyd and Miles, and sisters Sheila and Anita; along with a host of beloved aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Daisy Ward; his brother Leroy; his sisters Phyllis, Linda, Velma, and Darlene; and his cherished cat of 25 years, "Kool."

Eddie will be remembered for the joy he brought to those he encountered. He touched the lives of many, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Eddie will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary on Sunday, November 17th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary on Monday, November 18th at 10 a.m. with burial following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
