Obituary

Diane Wesley was born in Holbrook, Navajo, Arizona.  She passed away unexpectedly at her daughter's home on September 5, 2021.

Diane worked for the County of Riverside in Blythe, CA for 18 years until she retired in 2015.  The girls in the office loved to dress up for Halloween and Diane always had amazing costumes that she would make and put together.  Diane loved to do crafts, crocheting afghans for her family and friends.  It gave her so much pleasure.  Diane would also enter her crafts at the local Colorado River Fair in Blythe. Diane did a lot of volunteer work for her community.  She made masks for the local hospital and volunteered at Harmony Kitchen.  On her 80th birthday, the City of Blythe awarded her two Certificates of Appreciation, letting her know she was appreciated for her volunteer work.

What she loved to do was bowl.  Diane bowled for many years and in many leagues and won many tournaments. In her younger years Diane raced go-carts at Ascot Speedway in Los Angeles, CA.  She would push the peddle to the metal in many races.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie L. Wesley, son Frank M. Tassone, her brother John M. Garcia, father Manuel A. Garcia, and mother Sarah Lucero Montano Garcia.  Diane only had 13 years with her mother before she passed away.  She adored her mother and missed her tremendously.  Alvina Denmen is one special aunt to our mother - more like sisters, and helped Mom in many situations in her younger years and now the older years.  Diane has many nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends that she always considered family.

Diane is survived by her daughters - Stephanie Doyle (Doug) Yucca, AZ and Christine Powers (Rick) Palmdale, CA.  She has five Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild, Jayda.  Mom was able to see a picture of her and could not believe she was a Great-Great Grandmother.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Frye Chapel, 633 N 7th Street, Blythe, CA. There will be a visitation at 1 pm and funeral service at 2 pm.
