Dennis R. Day (Denny), age 67, passed away December 29, 2020 after a courageous battle with several illnesses.
Denny was born April 20th, 1953 in Blythe, California along with his twin brother Kenneth, to Charles and Dessie Day, to join Don, Sharon, and Grandma Day at Riverview Farms and Western Cattle Feeders to begin a life of adventure and mischief (as only twins can do).
Other than going to Grossmont Jr College, Denny spent his life in Blythe, graduating high school in 1971 and receiving his AA Degree in 1974 from Grossmont.
Denny enjoyed the outdoors; trap shooting, hunting, frog gigging, and camping in the desert with family and friends. Denny worked construction, plumbing, and owned a catering business. He also worked in the family custom hay business before he started his 33 year career at the Blythe Agricultural Inspection Station in 1984. He achieved the position of Station Manager in 2004 and Denny retired in March of 2017.
Denny was preceded in death by Elizabeth Day (grandmother), Charles R. Day (father), Dessie L. Day-Cox (mother) and Guy C. Cox (step-father).
Denny is survived by his brother Don Day (Arlene) of Pismo Beach, CA, sister Sharon Day0Durbin (Don) of Placerville, CA, twin brother Kenny Day (Shery) of Blythe, CA, and daughter Dayna Day and son Dylan Day, both of Holtville, CA. They have given to Denny three granddaughters (by Dayna) and one grandson (from Dylan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, girlfriend Mary Richardson, as well as his loyal dog, Lady, and a town full of friends, co-workers and classmates. A special thanks to Jim, Jody, John and J.C. for being there for him.
