Daniel Earl Robinson
September 30, 1948 – May 21, 2021

On Friday, May 21, 2021, Daniel "Danny" Robinson passed away at the age of 72 after a short battle with cancer.

Danny was born September 30, 1948 to Clarence and Marie Robinson in Delano, California. In 1949, the family moved to Blythe, California.

He attended local Blythe schools and graduated from Palo Verde High School with the almighty Class of '66. After graduation, he attended Palo Verde College where he played basketball and soccer. In 1968, he joined the Air Force. His was stationed in Germany and Korea where he specialized in communication troubleshooting. After his tour of duty was done in 1972, he returned to Blythe and began his farming career with his father, Clarence, at Robinson Farms. His love of farming and the valley were undeniable from his early years and lasted into the twilight of his life.

Upon Danny's return from the service, he was also an active member of the community and helping kids in a multitude of endeavors including being a 4H project leader, 4H and FFA volunteer, coach in many different sports, helped start the original Blythe Football League (BFL) and a booster for high school sports. He was an avid hunter that traveled around the world and shared his love of the sport while being a Hunter Safety Instructor and he helped organize annually the Junior and Family pheasant hunts here in the valley. Every hunt he could be found in the field working his dogs until every last junior had multiple opportunities at birds.

Over the years, he was also active in the Blythe Jaycees, Western Growers Association Board of Directors, President of Desert Cotton Growers, Modern Ginning Co., Colorado River Country Fair Junior Livestock Boosters, president of the local Ducks Unlimited Chapter, and Palo Verde Irrigation District Board where he was currently serving a term as President until his passing.

Danny is survived by his sons, Brad (Cintia) Robinson and Adam Robinson, his two grandchildren, Michael and Sophia Robinson, and his sister, Betty Blackwood.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colorado River Fair Grounds, 591 Olive Lake Boulevard, Blythe, CA.
