Clancy Osborne was quite the individual, he was tough, persistent, loving and quite the sports and outdoor enthusiast.

Clancy grew up in the Blythe area and his Dad taught him to hunt and fish, he was one of the best deer hunters in the valley and rarely missed a dove that flew by. Clancy was one of a handful of kids picked to go to Boy's State.  He loved sports and lettered in four sports in High School (Track, Baseball, Basketball and Football).  But it was football that would be his sport of choice.

When Clancy graduated high school, he went to ASU to play football and was a tight end on offense and a defensive end on defense.  He was one of the best tight ends that ever played for ASU but his best position was on defense.  He was Co-Captain of the 1 ^st ASU football team that went undefeated.  It was there at ASU that he met and married Mildred (Millie), the love of his life.  He was drafted by the Rams but was picked up by the 49ers where he played linebacker in 1959-60.  He then traveled to Minnesota where he joined the expansion team and played with Fran Tarkington in 1961-62.  Then it was back to California to play for his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders and Al Davis in 1963-64 where he was also a player coach his last year.  He was happiest when he was on the football field and if he could have kept playing he would have.  He was not the biggest player but he always won his starting job.  He and Millie came back to Blythe after that where he started coaching baseball, basketball and football at Palo Verde Community College and was the Athletic Director.

He then went on to Real Estate in the late 70's and opened up Century 21 Clancy Osborne Realty in Blythe and Beaumont, CA.  Clancy was on many committees and boards and very involved in the community.  He was on the PVC board and was very involved in bringing the Palo Verde College to its current location and was also appointed to the Riverside tax assessor appeals board.  He continued to hunt and fish and also renewed his love of horses.  His favorite horse BJ passed away last week and now Clancy has gone to ride off in the sunset and will be with him.  He died peacefully with the love of his life by his side.

Clancy is survived by his wife Millie, his daughter Debora Moore (Robert), son John Osborne (Sharon); grandchildren Kristina Peltier (Donald), Clayton Moore, Meaghan Aplin (Sean), Micayla Osborne; great grandchildren Solluna Soto, Trinity & Daniel Peltier, Julie Aplin and great great grandchild Deene Silvey; Sisters & Brothers, Betty Claypool, Chuck Osborne, Mike Osborne and Patty Adams.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Pon, Mildred Sue Moyers and Jane Cox.

Viewing will be held Saturday, September 16, from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. with Services beginning at 10 a.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary.  Graveside services will follow.
