Christy Lynn McMurtrie a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt passed away on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 at the age of 37.

Christy was born May 11th, 1984 in Blythe, California. She attended Palo Verde High School and was a graduate of the Class of 2002. Christy began her career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on December 3rd, 2007. She reported to Chuckawalla Valley State Prison as a Correctional Officer on March 29th, 2008. She promoted to a Correctional Sergeant on August 18th, 2014. She was a pleasure to be around and loved helping anybody who needed it. She was very dedicated to her work at CVSP and loved her CVSP family.

Christy enjoyed spending time at the river and the surrounding desert areas. She loved traveling, shopping, and exploring new things but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her parents, Dan and Debbie Bush; 3 sisters, Andrea (Justin) Campbell, Mikayla (Damian) Ramirez, and Nicole Bush; 2 brothers Danny and Johnny Bush; Grandmother Marjorie McMurtrie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Christy will be remembered for her sweet personality, infectious smile, contagious laugh, and her heart of gold. She will be tremendously missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Blythe, California at 10AM. A luncheon will be held at the VFW hall immediately following.
