Catherine "Cathy" Ann Robinson (McVey), age 63, passed away on December 12, 2017 in Goodyear, AZ. She was born on September 1, 1954 in Needles, CA to Ralph and Lois McVey. Cathy was the younger of two children and she and her family moved to Blythe in 1968 at the age of 14, where she attended school until her graduation from PVHS in 1972. Shortly after high school, Cathy married Daniel Robinson of Blythe and they made Blythe their home where they raised their two children Brad and Adam Robinson. Cathy resided in Blythe until 2009 and then moved to Goodyear, AZ where she lived until her passing.

From the time that she became a mother she dedicated her life to raising her boys and being active in their lives. She spent over a decade as either the President or a board member of the Ruth Brown Parent Club where she, with the help of others, had great success in helping to make Ruth Brown a school the community could be proud of. She was also very active in the local fair and Junior Livestock program, helping for many years to put up all the exhibits in the main building at the fair and spearheading or working on the Buyer's Luncheon. Cathy was also a cooking leader and an assistant leader in her children's 4-H projects.

Cathy was a grandma who absolutely adored her grandchildren and after their birth her world revolved around them. She absolutely loved children - even those that were of no relation to her. Babysitting her grandkids and other people's children brought great joy to her life.

Other than kids, her main passion was cooking and she was the kind of person that whenever you came to her house it was certain that you would leave with a full stomach. She always made sure there was more than enough food to go around at home or any function that she was involved with.

She is survived by her children Brad (Cintia) Robinson and Adam Robinson and her grandkids Michael and Sophia Robinson, all residing in Blythe, CA. She is also survived by her brother Allen McVey of Tucson, AZ and was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Cathy will be missed dearly by her friends and family but her thoughtful, caring, and giving ways will always be remembered and cherished. She always went above and beyond as a mother and as a person to try and make everything she was a part of a success and she always hoped that working hard, fighting for what you believe in with all your heart and the determination to give things your all would rub off on those around her.

Services will be held at Frye Chapel in Blythe, CA on Saturday, January 6th at 11:00 am.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations in her name be made to the Blythe Cancer Resource Center.
