Carlos A. Rodriguez

Carlos Rodriguez passed away at the age of 86 on November 23, 2024 in Cathedral City, California.

Carlos was born in Morenci, Arizona to Felipe and Guadalupe Rodriguez. He attended school in Morenci, Arizona where he met his future wife Alice.

After graduation, Carlos came to Blythe to attend Palo Verde College (PVC) and to play football. He returned to Morenci after attending his first year of college where he married his wife Alice.  After attending PVC, Carlos was recruited by University of Arizona (U of A) where he played football for two years and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduating from U of A, Carlos and Alice returned to Blythe where he began working for the United States Postal Service, delivering mail on a bike. He then went on to work for the Employment Development Department (EDD) and later went to work for Basic American Foods as a Supervisor until he retired.

Carlos was a volunteer fireman for the Blythe Fire Department and coached the girls basketball league for Joe Wine. Carlos also played basketball in the men's basketball league in Blythe and Parker winning quite a few championships. Basketball was the one sport where he developed a passion for.

Carlos and Alice made Blythe their home for 60 years together they raised eight children, before moving to Cathedral City, California.

Carlos was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice, daughter Joann, son Mark, daughter-in-law Rosa Rodriguez, and granddaughter Mackenzie Rodriguez. Carlos was the last remaining sibling out of his family of nine siblings.

Carlos is survived by his children: Carlos 'Chick' Rodriguez (Rita), Joe Rodriguez, Gloria Delgado (Rudy), Alice Guilin (Robert), Frances Rodriguez (Claudia), Chris Rodriguez (Elizabeth), and Lupe Rodriguez (Les).

Grandchildren: Abriana, Lyndsey, Elise, Alexandria, Michael, David, Nicholas, Noah, Zachary, Lacey, Cassidy, Jordan, Mark, Austin, Coty and Alyssa, and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Carlos will be held on Wednesday December 11th, 2024 at Frye Chapel with viewing from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Rosary begins at 7:00 PM. Mass will be Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial services to follow at Palo Verde Cemetery.
