Calvin Coolidge Adams, Jr. was born July 7, 1946, to Calvin Coolidge (Sr.) and Lillian Adams. Calvin was the youngest of five children.

Calvin attended the local schools here in Blythe. He played baseball and ran track for Palo Verde High School. He attended Palo Verde Community College and studied Business. He became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church at a young age.

In May of 1967, Calvin enlisted into the Armed Forces of the United States. He had tours of duty in the Army that took him to Vietnam and Germany.

After returning from the Army, he worked in the oil refinery and gas industry for Atlantic Richfield Company in Los Angeles, CA. Upon returning to Blythe, Calvin worked at various local businesses including Mac's Steak House, the cotton gin, and at the produce sheds.

Calvin took pleasure in spending time with people. He loved to play dominoes, cards and hanging out with his many friends. One of his favorite things to do was to cook. And he especially loved to Bar-B-Que. Holiday gatherings with the Family were very important to him. He also had a special relationship with his very close cousin—Frank Adams. Calvin loved watching sports; he would watch football until the last game was finished on Sunday night.

Calvin passed away peacefully at his home on August 30, 2024, at the age of 78. His Father Calvin Sr., Mother Lillian and brother James, all preceded him in death. He is survived by three siblings, Yvonne Foster-Swayze (Keith) of Blythe, CA, Alvin Adams of Los Angeles, CA, and Estella Thaxton (Henry) of Houston, TX. In addition to his siblings, Calvin leaves his Fiancée Yvonne Clark, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.

Visitation for Calvin will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary Friday, September 27, 2024 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Committal service at Palo Verde Cemetery will follow immediately after the services.
