Betty Jo
Lambert
May 24, 1935 — Feb 9, 2023
Blythe
Betty Jo Lambert, passed away peacefully in her home on February 9 th surrounded by her children.
She was born May 24, 1935 in Atkins, Arkansas to Ralph Glyn and Tempie Tucker. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona as a young child and attended school there including old P.U. She met her future husband Fred at a rodeo in Phoenix and they later married on July 25, 1953. The young couple made their first home in Blythe where Fred worked 33 years for the Riverside County Transportation department and together they raised a daughter and three sons.
Betty was a tireless volunteer for events involving her children and their friends, taking loads of kids to out of town football games or organizing a treasure hunt or birthday party. She served as church secretary for countless years at First Southern Baptist Church and worked over 20 years as a teacher's aide at Blythe Middle School. She had a passion for reading and enjoyed the company of many friends, exchanging bags of books with them, and sharing local news and maybe a doughnut. She also served as a "second mother" to many of the friends of her children and is remembered with love and appreciation at the time of her passing.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Fred, sons Greg and Gary, her parents, and brother Bill Tucker, In-laws Fred O. and Lois Lambert, nephews Toby Tucker and sister-in-law Shirley Casal, and her grandson Zachary Lambert.
Betty is survived by her daughter Sherri Kirby (Nando), Glyn Lambert (Martha), grandchildren Brandon Kirby, Michael Lambert, Krysten Lambert, Cameron Lambert, Jack Lambert, Mark Lambert, D.J. Lambert, Melissa Fimbres, Alyssa Lambert and James Lambert, as well as great-grandchildren Zachary Lambert, Ryan Lambert, Eli Lambert, Caden Lambert, Logan Lambert, Julian Garcia-Washington, Kristoff Lambert, Lillian Lambert and Axl Flores.
A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a Nana, a friend, a therapist… Betty Jo Lambert could do it all. Her memory will live on with her family and many friends who consider their lives richer for having shared a lifetime with Betty Jo.
