Betty Hastings was born Sept 24th 1935 in Odessa, Texas and she passed on Sept 10th 2017 in Blythe, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Hastings, a son David Lee Wallace and a brother Johnny Wylie.
She was a Dietary cook in the Health Care industry where she worked for the Nursing home and Palo Verde Hospital - her cooking was excellent.
She had a tender side for anyone less fortunate. A well-loved hymn has a verse that reminds us of the way Betty was, it says:
"…Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care, I cannot see another's lack and I not share, my glowing fire, my loaf of bread, my roof's safe shelter overhead, That he too may be comforted."
She lost her battle with cancer and passed peacefully with her daughter by her side.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanette Brown (Boyd), Sister Jimmy Lou Phipps, Brother Walter Wylie (Scarlett), Brother Ken aka Danny Wylie Sister Rena Ogburn (Gary), sister Gail Bachman, 4 grandchildren Codie Fike (Ethan), Kenna Morgan (Sonny), Christopher Brown (Melanie), Eli Brown (Kristin) and 10 great grandchildren.
Betty's Memorial will be held on Saturday, Sept 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Blythe LDS Church.
