Betty attended Woodberry College in Los Angeles for a year and a half before returning to Blythe to attend Palo Verde College. It was while attending PVC that she met and married Robert "Bo" Barrozo on July 9, 1950.
The Barrozo family grew to six with the additions of Melissa Carney (Jim), Anthony Barrozo (Cathy), Daniel Barrozo and Jonathan Barrozo (Renee).
Betty worked at Blythe Drug store for about 13 years prior to helping start the family-run business La Casita in 1977 and La Casita Dos 1991.
