It is with great pain, and heartache to announce my precious, beautiful, mother Bertha S. Gonzalez, one of the most humble women in this world, went to rest on September 10th, 2021.

Born on August 3, 1938 in Tlapa, Guerrero, mi ama was a young, determined woman who was focused on making something better of her life and those she left behind especially her mom mi nana Guadalupe.

Mom not only endured pain and struggles on her voyage to the states, she made many friends which most of those they would still call to keep in touch. She worked in the fields starting in Northern California, eventually making her way to the Palo Verde Valley where she met my father Juan Garcia Gonzalez.

My father fell in love with mi madre in the Palo Verde Valley. In the late 1960's they made their commitment to each a formal event. That unification of true love created and blessed their union with my sister Dominique and me.

My parents were never the wealthiest in monetary things, but mi apa, and mi ama were in love; spending their lives falling in love with each other every day. And as mi apa departed from this earthly realm, he left leaving mi ama con su corazón hecho pedazos.

I am so blessed to say I witnessed my mother take care of my father before he passed and I am comforted knowing they are in heaven with Domi.

Mi apa married the best woman in the world mi viejita Bertha S. González. Mis jefes could be mad at each other but one thing is I know they did not go to bed angry.

Mi madre was preceded in death by Juan Garcia Gonzalez in 2000; her little rambunctious Indian daughter Dominique in 2004; and her son Rodrigo Peña Gonzalez who passed away in 2018; and many more loved family members.

She is survived by her loving son Juan Miguel Gonzalez; daughter Maria Magdalena Gonzalez; daughter Irene Espinoza; son Pedro Gonzalez; and various nephews, nieces.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 23rd beginning at 4:00 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, with Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be Friday, Sept. 24th at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Joan of Arc with interment services following immediately after at Palo Verde Cemetery.

Es con gran dolor y angustia anunciar que mi preciosa y hermosa madre Bertha S. González, una de las mujeres más humildes de este mundo, se fue a descansar el 10 de septiembre de 2021.

Nacida el 3 de agosto de 1938 en Tlapa, Guerrero, mi ama era una mujer joven y decidida que estaba enfocada en hacer algo mejor en su vida y en los que dejó atrás, especialmente a su mamá, mi nana Guadalupe.

Mamá no solo soportó el dolor y las luchas en su viaje a los Estados Unidos, sino que hizo muchos amigos a los que la mayoría de ellos todavía llamarían para mantenerse en contacto. Trabajó en los campos comenzando en el norte de California, y finalmente se dirigió al Valle de Palo Verde, donde conoció a mi padre Juan García González.

Mi padre se enamoró de mi madre en el Valle de Palo Verde. A finales de la década de 1960, se comprometieron a que cada uno de ellos fuera un evento formal. Esa unificación del amor verdadero creó y bendijo su unión con mi hermana Dominique y conmigo.

Mis padres nunca fueron los más ricos en cosas monetarias, pero mi apa y mi ama estaban enamorados; pasando sus vidas enamorándose el uno del otro todos los días. Y cuando mi apa partió de este reino terrenal, se fue dejando mi ama con su corazón hecho pedazos.

Me siento muy afortunada de decir que fui testigo de cómo mi madre cuidaba a mi padre antes de su muerte y me consuela saber que están en el cielo con Domi.

Mi apa se casó con la mejor mujer del mundo mi viejita Bertha S. González. Mis jefes podrían estar enojados el uno con el otro, pero una cosa es que sé que no se fueron a la cama enojados.

Mi madre fue precedida en la muerte por Juan García González en 2000; su pequeña y traviesa hija india Dominique en 2004; y su hijo Rodrigo Peña González, fallecido en 2018; y muchos más familiares queridos.

Le sobreviven su amado hijo Juan Miguel González; hija María Magdalena González; hija Irene Espinoza; hijo Pedro González; y varios sobrinos, sobrinas.

El velorio será el jueves 23 de septiembre a partir de las 4:00 p.m. en la Iglesia de Santa Juana de Arco, con el Rosario a partir de las 6:00 p.m. La misa fúnebre será el viernes 24 de septiembre a las 10:00 a.m. también en St. Joan of Arc con servicios de entierro inmediatamente después en el cementerio de Palo Verde.
