Obituary

In loving memory of Aurora Zarate, who peacefully passed away on April 22, 2025, at her home in Blythe, CA, surrounded by her beloved family. She was 71 years old and is survived by her cherished children: Pablo, age 50; Marisol, age 46; Susana, age 33; and her youngest son, Pete, age 30.

Born on June 27, 1953, in Stanton, Texas, Aurora, affectionately known as "Dolores" or "Lola," was the devoted daughter of Cleotilde and Francisco Zarate. Growing up with her siblings Tino, Roque, Abel, Kathy, Guera, and Lilly, she shared a life of resilience and love, moving from city to city while working in the fields picking apples & onions.

Aurora had a passion for music, especially the songs of her favorite artist, Selena. She loved crafting, shopping  at thrift stores, making tortillas, and doing "yard sale" with Her sister Kathy . Aurora was also a breast cancer survivor and during her last stages of life both of her daughters Mari & Sana alongside granddaughters ; Bianca & Irene-  comforted her and honored her wishes greatly.

Her humble spirit and beautiful voice brought happiness to family gatherings and celebrations.

Aurora Zaraté will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th form 5-8:00 p.m. at Frye Chapel.  Funeral service will follow the next morning on Tuesday, May 6th at 10:00 a.m. with burial after at Palo Verde Cemetery.
