With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Arturo Marin on September 27, 2026.
Arturo was born in Canutillo, TX, on September 19, 1959. He grew up in Blythe, CA, attended local schools and graduated from Palo Verde High School in May 1977 in the top 10 of his class.
Shortly after graduation, Arturo moved to San Diego and attended a welding school. He was hired by General Dynamics as a welder and worked there for several years. He then moved back to Blythe and worked for Southern California Gas Company for several years.
He worked as a welder for a steel company in Denver, CO, and also lived and worked in Albuquerque, NM, and Spokane, WA, and eventually settled in Blythe.
He is predeceased by his father Luis Marin, Sr., mother Avelina Marin, and sister Emilia Rodriguez.
He is survived by sisters Soledad Franco and Carmen Keeler (Don); his brothers Luis Marin, Jr. (Liz) and Robert Marin (Yolanda); and many nieces and nephews.
He was a big fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Lakers. He had a passion for art and loved to read. He loved Southern California beaches, the Colorado River, and relaxing with family and friends.
Arturo was very artistic and loved to work with his hands. His happy place was the garage where he restored old furniture, repaired and modified bicycles, worked and tinkered with any project that was challenging and was very good at it.
His loss has left us heartbroken, but his memory will live on.
A memorial will be held on October 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Frye Chapel. A reception will follow at the American Legion Hall at 12:00 p.m.
