Obituary

On April 29, 2020, our beloved 'Art', 86, decided to start his journey with our Lord Jesus Christ. Dealing with an illness for several years, he fought to stay with us until he could no more.

Arthur F. Hill, or 'Art', as we knew him, was born on December 14, 1933 in San Diego, California. He valued life, family and friends and was a dedicated veteran who strongly supported his role in the VFW. Art presented numerous services as Chaplin for the VFW, he prepared military events for other fallen vets: his donations to Wounded Warriors project plus different children orphanages were generous and kept him active. His compassion for helping others was never-ending.

Art was a brave man who displayed his love for guns and those kept him busy too. He was a quiet man by nature, but everyone knew when he meant business. Art's 1965 Red Dodge truck was his pride and joy. His rebel side had him building motorcycles before his illness.

His biggest love were his grandchildren. He made fond memories with them playing 'store', dolls and even hide and seek. He was the perfect example of a grandfather.

Art's stories of yonder years were interesting and adventurous. He believed in teaching and sharing his knowledge. It appears Art's life was like a book.

He was preceded in death by his one and only daughter Sharon, along with one sister Marge and one brother Bill.

He is survived by his daughters Linda Linden and Lisa Hillebold (Hill); His companion Alice and her children devoted their time in caring for him. He also had two wonderful caretakers. We really loved him. He would attempt to give us sign and looks to show his gratitude. We had a great sadness as we noticed the end in sight.

Art touched the hearts of many people. We will miss you forever Arthur F. Hill. Rest in peace Poppa!
