Alice Leon Figueroa

March 31, 1930 to November 27, 2024

Alice Leon Figueroa was born on March 31, 1930 in Blythe, California to Jose and Jesus Leon. She was 94 years old when she passed, at home with family.

Alice lived in Rice, California where she attended a one room school through the 8th grade. She loved school and would say that her teacher "would not leave a student's desk until you understood the problem". Her father worked for Santa Fe Railroad and eventually moved to Blythe in 1944 so she could attend Palo Verde High School.

She married Danuario A. Figueroa on August 26, 1950. They were married for 65 years and had three children, Danuario L. Figueroa (Sandra), Gilbert Figueroa (Lorraine) and Rebecca Aguirre (Bobby). She later became interested in nursing and attended Riverside City College, Department of Vocational Nursing in Riverside, California. She received her license in 1965.

Alice was a caring, loving, dedicated mother, and housewife. She had five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Danuario, her sister Josie Leon Robles, and her son Gilbert Figueroa. She is survived by her brother Joe Leon and sister Eloise Figueroa.

Funeral mass will be held on January 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Reception to follow.
