Alice Jean Alford

August 6, 1956-October 7,2021

Alice was born in Blythe, Ca. to her very proud parents Tom & Louise Alford, their first born. She helped welcome into the family her sister Annette and brothers Donald and Darrell Alford with much joy and they experienced many happy memories through the years.

Alice was a life long member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Blythe and served in many ministries. She was in the choir, taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Classes, took students to Pathfinder Retreats and helped with RCIA.

Alice attended local schools from Kindergarten until she graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1974….a very proud family moment was when her mother presented her and many of her classmates with their diplomas.

Alice was an active member of her class participating in many extracurricular activities.

After graduation she attended the University of San Diego where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree and 2 Masters Degrees. She wrote and published a Pictorial History of the Palo Verde Valley 1860-1936. She went on to Gonzaga University to pursue her PHD. Alice taught at Palo Verde High School, Palo Verde College, High School in Somerton, Az. and was Librarian at Butler Elem. School in the Phoenix area. She enjoyed working summers in Blythe at the Day Camp helping to provide many interesting activities for those attending. Alice loved working with her many students through the years and enjoyed learning of their continued progress.

Her Class of 1974 paid tribute to her saying that Alice was a loyal and humble loving person with a positive position in life with a great love for the beauty of nature, great classmate and loving person…..saying that "Alice has now "earned her wings." She helped plan many Homecoming activities through the years, reunions and building floats for the parades.

Alice loved spending time at the family cabin in Beaver, Utah which she participated in building in 1976 along with many other family and friends. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her Dad and other family members and friends. The cabin is a Very Special Place and will always hold great memories of Alice being there with us.

Alice was preceeded to eternal life by her father Tom Alford, her grandparents Louis and Adrienne Favret and Will and Myrtle Alford, many aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece Rebecca Resendez.

Alice was prepared to move on to eternity and leave this world behind. She leaves a void in all of our lives. She was a blessing to many more than we'll ever know….now Rest In Peace Dear Alice!

Alice is survived by her mother Louise Alford of Blythe, brother Donald & Wife Jana Alford of Imperial, Ca., brother Darrell Alford and wife Terri Alford of San Diego, Ca., her sister Annette Alford of Woburn, Mass., Aunt Joyce Conley of Tehachapi, Ca., Aunt Billie Jo of Puyallup, Wa. many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends that she loved spending time with and making gifts for through the years.
