Alan E. Denewiler, 67, passed away at his home in Blythe, California on August 30th, three months after being diagnosed with glioblastoma. He was born in Blythe on February 18, 1951, the second child of Charlene and Fred Denewiler. He attended elementary school and junior high school in Blythe, graduating from Palo Verde High School in 1969. He graduated with a degree in Agricultural Business Management from Cal Poly Pomona in 1973 and earned his masters degree from University of Arizona in 1975.

In 1977, he went to work for United California Bank in Blythe and in April of 1982 he was named Branch Manger and remained at the bank, which went through several name changes finally becoming Rabobank, until he retired in April of 2013. Although he was offered many other positions within the bank if he moved, he loved Blythe and chose to stay home. A source of pride and enjoyment was working with the Colorado River Fair Auction for many years.

His happiest times were spent with his wife, children and grandchildren with whom he enjoyed water sports, fishing, camping and life on the Colorado River.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail, and their three children - Thomas (Silvie) Denewiler and their two children Ona and Tyler, all of San Diego, CA, Sandra (Jarrod) Martin and their son Charles and their soon to arrive daughter, all of Surprise, AZ, and Robyn Denewiler, and her two children, Hailey and Anthony, all of Blythe. He is also survived by his brother Robert Denewiler (Nancy) of La Quinta, CA, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Kathryn.
