It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved father Adolfo Victoria Martinez. He was born on July 25, 1944 in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose and Maria Martinez. He passed away on October 5, 2021 at Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe, California. He was 77 years old and although he wasn't very open about his childhood, we gathered thru the years that it was filled with hardships.

Adolfo worked in agriculture most his life and was disabled after a back injury. He settled in the Palo Verde Valley and enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching the evening news. He always had some spicy homemade salsa and as tears came down on your face he would laugh and say he only used 40 chiles and two tomatoes. He loved to sit outside in his office chair with his nose in a crossword book and a few lottery tickets. He was always encouraging and had a good sense of humor.

Adolfo was predeceased by his daughter Maria, his parents Jose and Maria, siblings Pedro, Luis, Ofelia and Sara.

He is survived by his nine children: Margarita Martinez of Pocatello, ID , Victoria Martinez of Fort Hall, ID, Socorro (Mike) Angert of Chandler, AZ, Maria Martinez-Cornejo (Justin) of Bakersfield, CA, Bernice Martinez of Blythe, CA, Rudy (Christina) Martinez of Henderson, NV, Maria Carmela (Jose) Martinez of Blythe, CA, and Sandra and Genissa Martinez, both of Chandler, AZ.

Adolfo is also survived by his brothers Jose Martinez (Lidia) of Nogales Sonora MX, Emilio Martinez (Artemisa) of Ejido Sinaloa De Leyva MX, his sisters Maria De Jesus Sanchez of El Centro, CA, Guadalupe Martinez Victoria of Bakersfield, CA and Dolores Martinez Victoria (Rogerio Vega Jr) of Bakersfield, CA.

He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and an extended amount of family.

He will be dearly missed by his children, but we know he is smiling down and he is now free.
